“Suite Retreat”

When meeting this beautiful family, I immediately felt their warmth and kindness. It inspired me to reflect this feeling in our design boards for the space. Envision ceilings rich with millwork, warm wood trim and brass tones throughout. Welcome to our Suite Retreat!

The project entailed a re-design of a bedroom with en-suite bath and an arched entryway space. The footprint was there but the rooms needed some tender loving care.  We chose to make the dutch ceiling the showcase and trimmed the double miter shiplap boards with white oak around the perimeter.

Since the bedroom was large enough to accommodate a bedroom area and a lounge area for hanging with the family or watching tv we made sure to include cozy, inviting textures and all washable fabrics.  When selecting the palette, we chose White Heron by Benjamin Moore for a crisp but not stark white and kept the floor stain a natural hone.

The en-suite bath called for the same warm tones and we chose House of Rohl’s™ Italian brass finish to adorn the space. If you look closely enough the mini mermaid floor tile adds depth and whimsy to this elevated bath.

Every detail was chosen with intention from the wall mounted faucets, to the 83” fluted white oak vanity, modern tub and honed shower tile finish.

Due to the expansiveness of the suite, we eliminated as many doors as possible and instead opted for a barn door in and out of the bath and highlighted the glorious arch to define the separate spaces.

Suite Retreat was one of our moodier palettes and we couldn’t be happier with the juxtaposition of our love for laidback luxury and modern California design.
