When you become a teenager, you think you have it

When you become a teenager, you think you have it all figured out. When you become an adult, you learn the hardship of financial independence. When you become a parent, you realize you hadn’t really felt what love was about until you stared into your child’s eyes. Then you watch your babies walk the same cycle of life you did and you pray you’ve taught them something right so they too can tackle this big world.

Here’s the thing… nothing prepares you for this crazy thing called life. So I am trying, praying, begging to remind myself to live in the moment. Every second. Being present allows me to enjoy each hug, each late night or early morning conversation, each cry, each phone call… each inch of you, my son.

Music is a magical thing. It brings friends, family, community together. And last night was a highlight I will never forget. I love you kiddo. I love you my dearest friend Meg for bringing this moment together for all of us. Thanks @rufusdusol for making a night like this happen. No reel. No filter. Just captured moments that I will carry with me on this crazy life journey. With my very best people next to me. 🫶🏻
