While your home can be brightened so can your SELF. There are lots of forms of self-care and here at GLDESIGN we love anything that lets YOU shine. On a daily basis amidst the back to back meetings and design work there are tangents, most light-hearted and filled with passions and pleasures…I guess you could call it our own version of workplace self-care. One of the most frequent GLDESIGN round table discussions centers around skincare, mostly because I’m a self-proclaimed product junkie and I want to share my newbie product reviews. It started years ago during a tween stage when I would frequent our local CVS in search of the perfect vanilla shimmer lip balm, buy multiple of my favorite and drop them into friends’ lockers as recommendations. The search for the best fresh faced no-makeup look has evolved, the quest transforming with my age as one may expect. I’m ever on the hunt for dewy skin, free of wrinkles and blemishes. Perhaps it’s a miracle I’m looking for, a holy grail, but I will try!
Sunday Riley, Good Genes
Tell people it’s your good genes. This lactic acid exfoliating and brightening treatment will refresh and replenish your skin. It’s active and soothing and I can use it every morning- it plumps, smooths, and glows up your skin. It’s not cheap but if I could have one product this would be it.
Remember, it’s just your good genes.
Beauty Water, Son & Park
Toner is so important to prep your skin for any serums and creams. Don’t even bother layering them on without first toning your skin with this beauty water.
Kora Organics, Active Algae Lightweight Moisturizer
This moisturizer made from algae, rose water and green tea is a great light weight option that works under makeup. It leaves a luminous and hydrated finish.
Eminence, Organic Skin Care Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum
I love this for an extra boost of moisture – if I’m feeling extra dehydrated I layer this under my daytime moisturizer.
Roc, Resurfacing Disks
My go-to cleanser for removing the days dirt, dead skin and creating a clean canvas morning and night. There is a smooth side and a textured side. I start with one and end with the other using gentle circular strokes all over my face. When you look at the pad after cleansing, it’s dirty and so satisfying.
Kosas the Sun Show Moisturizing Baked Bronzer
The “Sun Show”… the name sells it. Fatal flaw here, I love a real tan. I’ve been called “suncatcher” and the name tells it as it is. I know, naughty naughty. So let’s fake it. This is the best of what’s around. As a bare face sunlight vibe
Benefit Cosmetics GALifornia Golden Pink Blush
Brush a little of this pink glow onto your cheeks to give that sun kissed look some dimension.
Skin Gym High Frequency Wand
This is technically a tool and I can’t live without it. I’ve been prone to breakouts and when I feel one coming on I zap it with this magical wand. I actually love to use it all over my face before bed, I feel like it kills any remaining face bacteria and does double duty plumping the skin. I’m a little flushed when I go to bed but when I wake up in the morning I notice a more fresh and clear face.
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning drops, Medium
“Where did you go on vacation?” These are my trip in a bottle. You can add drops to your moisturizer or even slather it on under your regular skincare and you look like you’ve just been away.
Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Highlighter
Color- Starglow
I love this on top of moisturizer and sunscreen- simply the best luminous, fresh look.
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm
This is a high-shine, moisturizing balm that I apply way too many times a day. It’s addicting- with its subtle smell and lip-softening effect. Bye bye parched, wrinkly lips.
You’re welcome!
