At the end of a dirt path, surrounded by Nantucket moors, we found a home with plenty of character and room for a new chapter. We kept its classic grey-shingle exterior and brought that same relaxed spirit indoors, pairing weathered beams with crisp white shiplap. Carefully chosen furnishings, commissioned art and a lighter touch throughout gave the home new life without losing what made it special. We called it Why Knot for the simple joy of having a place to return to on an island we had always dreamed of visiting.
