Whether you are lounging on the couch or entertaining a group of friends, your living room is a space you’ll spend time in every day- so you have to love the way it looks! We’re excited to share a few tips today on how we prefer to style a living room space. Bottom line is make it intentional, cozy and inviting!
tip 1: intentional selections
When styling a coffee table I like to make it intentional. Display only the books that you love and break up the expected with curated decorative items and a touch of greenery hosted in a textured vessel.
tip 2: inviting layers
Casual comfortable chic! We are all about layering on the couch making it the most inviting spot in the house. Mix it up with pillows sizes, chunky throws and don’t be afraid to change it up over the seasons so it feels refreshed all year round.
tip 3: a balanced nook
Whether it be a plant, a chair, a bench, a dog bed or a built-in, each living room has that “nook.” Don’t make it awkward by not integrating it into the room. Make it a part of the design and next thing you know it’ll be your favorite spot to read a book, snuggle with your furry ones or grow your favorite tree with care. Play with scale and always go bigger than you think so the nook becomes a place you are drawn to.
tip 4: playful + functional styling
Although symmetry is important, not everything needs to be perfectly balanced. Style your dresser, bar or bedside table in a way that functions right for you. Have fun with interesting objects, add height in unexpected place and layer stacks and objects!
