tip 1: go big or go home
Lighting is the jewelry of a home. Don’t be afraid to make a statement and if one fixture isn’t enough then add a few more fixtures for the extra wow!
tip 2: pick the right bulbs
tip 3: bulb temps!
I’m a “soft white” bulb fan but get to know your bulb temperatures and lumens! It’s a very overwhelming process and the Home Depot bulb aisle is my nemesis. Hang in there and try out different bulbs in different spaces. You’ve got this!
tip 4: beautiful + functional
You can have both function and beauty work together when it comes to lighting. Ditch the boob lights and go for the more pricey flush mounts. Add in statement pendants, textured sconces, hand crafted table lamps where possible. No choice but to have recessed lighting? Then add dimmers for ambient lighting.
